I would rather watch The Simpson Family Smile-Time Variety Hour featuring the Waylon Smithers dancers.

by rebel8 inweekday afternoons: a soap opera featuring judicial committees, demon possessions, and wives clamoring to be the ones who host the circuit overseer's lunch.
saturday mornings: sparlock cartoon.
friday evenings: reality show featuring jw dating.

Um, but a bunch of Bible beliefs CAN be proven false. Mankind was not created 6,xxx years ago. There was no global flood 4000 years ago. There was no Exodus.
Beliefs do not change facts. Facts, if one is rational, should change beliefs.

The US letter definitely mentions Roku by name.
I wonder how much Roku has paid the WTS for the publicity? Talk about "product placement"!
Please. Anybody can get a Roku channel. Just announcing another method of consuming the narrowcast. Roku is the most popular streaming box and is also the easiest way for non-tech, non-computer type people to consume online video as it most closely resembles TV. Right at the bottom of the screen I saw it also says 'you might be interested in...The Mormon Channel!' LOL

Looking back to what happened since sept 2012... i must say its brilliant !
by insidetheKH inwho thought in the early months of 2012 that such a rebranding would take place in only a matter of 24 months?.
they managed to go from an antique looking and boring website (watchtower.org) with hardly any attractive content to go to a fresh looking new website with stuff for everyone, families, children, teenagers.. movies, and short videos about almost everything and new ones added every month.
cartoons, animation video's , interviews, picture activities all kind of projects, many audio files like dramatic bible readings, dramas and music, online research tools, new brochures for kids (off and online) etc.

Yes, silent, I remember elders in the mid 90s saying the society would never have a website. Some speakers at assemblies even said regular people had no need to be online.
Then it was 'don't read scriptures from printouts' at meetings...the Bible has more authority when read from directly!
How far we've come!

They're not expensive; I can see more people affording those at $39 than an ipad.

TV.JW.Org - Streamed to KHs via the New Projectors
by passwordprotected ini read here recently that the khs are being instructed to buy and install projector systems.. now that we've seen the launch of of tv.jw.org we can fully expect public talks to - on a monthly basis at least - be replaced by content streamed from the site to the screens in khs.. .

They have undoubtedly been told this by whatever PR firm has directed the events of the last year or so.

Yes, nothing would surprise me at this point.
Almost every news type broadcast, even religious ones are done with at least two people and preferably ones of opposite sex.
This is how 700 Club does it. The only shows where it is just one person talking to the audience are shows where the anchor has a personality that can hold the audience i.e. John Oliver, Bill O'Reilly, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart.

TV.JW.org - Purpose?
by passwordprotected inthere's an interest point raised by stephen letts at around the 7 minute mark of the intro video;.
much of the equipment used to build the studio was made available by donation.
he twice mentions (once at the start of the video) the need for "support", which we can assume means donations.

Theres a lot more to it than that, pixel. Visit one of the other threads regarding equipment lists and implementation.
But yeah, I think a 1.5 years is a huge stretch. Twit did a whole house in 7 months complete with offices, multiple sets, public reception/lobby with 1.2 million.
